Buie, Norman & Company, P.A. began in 1974 by founding partners John G. Buie, Jr. and Robert D. Norman. Larry L. Bass, Jr., partner, joined the firm in 1979.

Our firm operates under a “working partner” approach. This approach ensures each client has direct access to the engagement partner. Our engagement teams are hand-picked for their balanced understanding of the challenges inherent to the individual client’s specific industry and operation. Our staff is dedicated to serving each client in its unique marketplace. We strive to go beyond providing the ordinary accounting and tax services by serving as consultants and advisors in all accounting related areas.

All members of our professional staff are Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) or are actively working towards earning their certification. They are dedicated individuals who bring a wealth of experience to the firm. The paraprofessionals on our support staff are generally assigned to work with specific professionals on selected engagements. This close working relationship throughout the engagement team and with our clients, coupled with low turnover among the professional and paraprofessional staff, provides clients with a continuity of service providers.

Buie, Norman & Company maintains membership for all certified professionals in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA). We practice under an AICPA-recognized quality control program.

Professional Standards

Independence, objectivity, and confidentially are requisites of a CPA firm. All Buie, Norman & Company personnel are required to exercise complete confidentially and to observe the independence rules of the Code of Professional Conduct of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
